Breaking the Lap Record in Assen, Bezzecchi Wins the Dutch MotoGP Pole
– Marco Bezzecchi’s dominance in the Dutch MotoGP continues. He deserves to be won pole after breaking the lap record at Assen during the Dutch MotoGP qualification.
The VR46 Ducati racer edged out defending champion Francesco Bagnaia by a margin of 0.061 seconds. Teammate Luca Marini held on to the front row despite falling at the end of the session.
Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo, who has to fight against pain, is enjoying his best qualification this season in fourth. The French racer will be joined in the second row by Brad Binder (KTM) and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia).
German MotoGP double winner Jorge Martin slid at Turn 5 on his first lap, forcing the Spaniard to run back into the Pramac Ducati pits. He ended up securing a tenth.
Johann Zarco and Miguel Oliveira led Qualification 1 for the Dutch MotoGP and advanced to the Qualification 2 pole position battle. Each racer finished eighth and eleventh.
Best performance failed to be repeated by Jack Miller who trailed in twelfth and last place in Qualifying 2.
Meanwhile, Marc Marquez’s attempt to stalk Enea Bastianini backfired. He hit the back of Bastinani and was thrown into the gravel. He will start from 17th.
