Confirmed by Menpora Dito, the Indonesian contingent is asked to raise the Red and White flag

– The Indonesian Team contingent for the SEA Games 2023 Cambodia was officially confirmed by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo at the Kemenpora Field, Tuesday (2/5/2023) morning.

“The results of the SEA Games can be a benchmark for the struggle towards the next Olympics. The multi-event SEA Games and the Asian Games can be made as intermediate targets towards the next Olympics. So according to the enthusiasm of the NOC Chair, this is our target for the Olympics,” said Dito during the inauguration of the SEA contingent. The 32nd Cambodia Games at the Office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/5/2023).

“So fight, compete as much as possible by upholding sportsmanship,” he added.

Meanwhile, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) Raja Sapta Oktohari gave a message of encouragement to all the departing athletes to try their best to raise the Red-White flag in Cambodia later while winning as much gold as possible.

“For that, maintain the good name of Indonesia. Make Mother Earth proud. Show the world that Indonesia can. The Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) gives its highest appreciation to the Menpora, deputies, and the review team for the collaboration that resulted in the Indonesian team squad for SEA Cambodia 2023 Games,” said Okto

He also gave appreciation to sports that are seriously focused on preparing and coaching achievements to lead our athletes to win as many gold as possible at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games.

“To the CdM and the ranks, we wish you good luck working and fighting. Give the best for the athletes and stakeholders so that they get as many job opportunities as possible,” he said.

Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian contingent Lexyndo Hakim said he was grateful for the smooth running of the inauguration of the Indonesian contingent for the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia. Moreover, according to Lexyndo’s observation, all the departing athletes are already in their best performance to give the best for Merah – Putih in the upcoming SEA Games.

“Alhamdulillah, this is a moment that we and all athletes have been waiting for because it was officially and ceremonially confirmed by the Menpora and the Chairman of the KOI. God willing, the athletes will also be in their best performance at the SEA Games later, moreover they have been very well cared for by their respective sports, ” said the figure who is familiarly called Lexy.

“Then, there are also sports that have departed such as football, hockey and cricket. Following this a large group will depart, so now we only need prayers and support from the community so that the athletes can give their best when competing,” he concluded.

The Indonesian Team Contingent at the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia was strengthened by 599 athletes who appeared in 31 sports (sports). Menpora Dito is targeting 60 gold medals to bring home in order to maintain third place in the final medal standings.
