Homecoming Evaluation for 2023, Minister of Transportation Suggests Cipali Toll Road Plus 4 Lanes

The Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Budi Karya Sumadi made a proposal regarding the addition of the Cipali to Kalikangkung Toll Road, which was originally two lanes, to three to four lanes.

This was conveyed as a note at the Closing Ceremony of the Command Center or the 2023 Integrated Eid Transport Post at the Ministry of Transportation.

“Ideally, the Cipali (Toll Road) from KM 72 to Kalikangkung should have three or four lanes,” said Budi to journalists in Jakarta, Tuesday (2/5/2023).

For this reason, Budi has submitted the proposal to the Minister of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono.

“It is noted that in the infrastructure (Toll) Cipali we (have) proposed to the Minister of PUPR to be three line,” said Budi.

The proposal is so that in the future there is no need to implement one-way system traffic engineering.

“Because if it’s three lines maybe we can contraflow maybe, there’s no need for one way,” he continued.

Especially now that there is the Cisumdawu Toll Road so that there will be more and more traffic movements on the Cipali Toll Road.

“So we don’t change a movement that we require to be one way, but at least we know we have the new Cisumdawu, Cisumdawu has a large number of movements. At least a few kilometers enter Cipali towards Kalikangkung and towards Jakarta, there are three lanes to accommodate the volume doesn’t falter,” explained Budi.

However, Budi fully submitted the decision regarding the addition of this route to the Minister of PUPR.

“The one authorized to decide this is the PUPR Ministry, but I have spoken with the PUPR Minister at least how many kilometers when Cisumdawu was operated, it was already running so it was only for Cisumdawu,” said Budi.
