First Recruitment Under Luis Enrique, Milan Skriniar Officially Joins PSG

– Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) officially signed defender from Slovakia, Milan Skriniar, for free or free transfer from Inter Milan on Thursday (6/7/2023).

According to AFPMilan Skriniar have agreed to sign a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions after his contract with Inter Milan ends in June.

The 28-year-old player has long been a target for PSG. He had been linked with a move to the club since January, however a deal between the two clubs was not reached before the winter transfer window closed.

Inter are even reported to have turned down an offer of more than 50 million euros for Skriniar last year.

Skriniar joined Inter Milan from Sampdoria in 2017 and has made nearly 250 appearances across all competitions during his time at the club. In addition, he has also played 60 times for the Slovak national team.

Skriniar’s final season in Italy was frequently disrupted by injury, which kept him out of more than 20 matches in all competitions, including the Champions League final when Inter lost to Manchester City.

“When you join a club like Paris Saint Germain, of course there is pressure. I felt it a little bit,” Skriniar said in a statement quoted on PSG’s official website by AFP.

“But I feel ready, ready to be part of such a big club.”

“I like the pressure. As defenders, we know how it feels, and we always have to be ready.”

Skriniar is PSG’s first signing of the transfer window, announced a day after Luis Enrique’s appointment as new coach to replace the sacked Christophe Galtier.
