Head of DPRD DKI Calls for JIS Renovation Budget from the Central Government, Not the DKI Provincial Government

– Chairman of DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, said that the budget for the renovation of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) comes from the Central Government, not from the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta.

“The budget already comes from the President, assisted by the central government. DKI No spending money at all to prepare for the U-17 World Cup,” said Prasetio Edi Marsudi at the Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta, Thursday (6/7/2023).

Prasetio Edi revealed that even though the JIS renovation budget for the next 3 months comes from the Central Government, according to him the Jakarta Regional Government still has an obligation to look after and care for one of the country’s assets.

“In the future, if we really have to fix it, if assets such as the Central Government are the grandest, they must also be maintained as regional government assets,” he said.

“With a big budget if we No the maximum is that with one good activity it will also be a loss, where will the BUMD money return from, right,” he added.

The head of the DKI DPRD emphasized that the construction and renovation of JIS must be for the benefit of sports, not to be misused to prioritize other interests, such as music events. According to him, JIS should function in accordance with the main purpose of its development, which is to become a vehicle for athletes.

“Once again, JIS was built for the sake of sports, not for big music parties,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, announced that holding the U-17 World Cup has the potential to receive an additional budget of IDR 243 billion. This budget is an allocation from the preparation budget for the U-20 World Cup which was not implemented in Indonesia.

“Regarding the remaining budget from the preparation for the U-20 World Cup, we are still calculating it. The remaining budget is Rp. 243 billion. Initially, this budget was supposed to be used for the U-20 World Cup, but since it was cancelled, we are considering whether to allocate it to the U-20 World Cup. -17,” said Menpora on Wednesday (5/7/2023).

However, Dito stressed that the allocation plan was still waiting for a response from PSSI and FIFA.
