Harry Kane leads Munich to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with 2 goals

Munich, Beritasatu.com – Harry Kane scored two goals to send Bayern Munich to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 3-0 win over Lazio, at the Allianz Arena Stadium, Munich, Germany, Wednesday (6/3/2024).

Kane's 32nd and 33rd goals in his 32nd game for Munich ensured the Bavarian powerhouse recovered from a 1-0 defeat in the last-16 first leg in Rome to win 3-1 on aggregate over two legs.

Munich, who are 10 points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, face the prospect of a second exit in 12 appearances in the last 16 of the Champions League.

However, Kane finally broke the deadlock in the 38th minute. The goal came when Thomas Muller headed Aleksandar Pavlović's cross which was parried by Raphaël Guerreiro, and Kane met the ball to head it past Ivan Provedel in the Lazio goal.

Munich became even happier a few minutes later. Muller scored in stoppage time of the first half with a header from Matthijs de Ligt's shot after a corner kick.

Kane ensured Munich was 3-0 up in the 66th minute by firing in a rebound. It was the England captain's sixth goal in the Champions League this season.

Munich winger Leroy Sane has recovered enough to start after a knee problem ruled him out of the 2-2 draw with Freiburg at the weekend. He played well in the Munich vs Lazio match.
