League 1: Beat Persita 2-0, Barito Leads Standings

– Barito Putera sits at the top of the temporary League 1 standings for the 2023/24 season after defeating Persita Tangerang, 2-0, Sunday (2/7/2023) at the Demang Lehman Stadium, Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan.

PS Barito Putera controlled the game from the first half and scored two goals in that half. The first goal was scored by Gustavo Tocantins in the 14th minute, while the second goal was scored by Rizky Pora in the 26th minute. The team managed to maintain a 2-0 advantage until halftime.

In the second half, Persita tried to respond by attacking Barito Putera’s goal. However, their efforts were always thwarted by goalkeeper Ega Rizky Pramana who performed very well throughout the match. Persita was unable to score until the second half whistle sounded.

According to Barito Putera’s coach, Rahmad Darmawan, the team played well and was carefree from the start of the game.

This victory is considered a positive start, but the team must still focus on facing Persebaya Surabaya on Saturday. Coach RD also said that Persebaya is a strong and solid team, so team spirit must be maintained.

With this victory, Barito Putera won three points and temporarily leads the Indonesian League 1 standings. The troop from South Kalimantan is at the top with three points and the highest goal difference. Other teams that have also picked up three points from their first game are Persebaya, Dewa United and PSS Sleman.
