Liverpool Sign the Hungarian Midfielder from RB Leipzig

– Liverpool FC officially announced the success of signing Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig for a fee of 70 million euros (around IDR 1.14 trillion). The Hungarian midfielder is Liverpool’s second signing of the summer after Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion.

After two and a half years in the Bundesliga with Leipzig and appearing in 91 matches in all competitions, Szoboszlai arrived at Anfield. He is very happy to join this historic club and can’t wait to play for Liverpool soon. The 22-year-old player will wear the number eight jersey at his new club.

In Liverpool’s official website, Szoboszlai expressed his joy by saying, “I am very happy to be part of this historic club with great players and coaches.”

“Everything was so good. For me, it’s the perfect step to start something new at a club like this. The fans and the stadium were amazing too. Over the last few days, I’ve enjoyed it and can’t wait to get to know everyone at the club better. ” said the player born in Szekesfehervar.

Szoboszlai is an academy graduate of Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. He made his professional debut for FC Liefering in July 2017, making 33 appearances and 10 goals in that season.

Then, he returned to RB Salzburg in 2018 and made his first appearance for the club in May. Szoboszlai will remain at Salzburg until 2021, making 56 appearances and 16 goals in all competitions.

During his time with RB Salzburg, Szoboszlai won four Austrian Bundesliga titles (2018-2021) and three Austrian Cups (2019-2021). On 17 December 2020, he moved to RB Leipzig, although he will only be able to play in January 2021.

Since then, he has made 91 appearances, recording 22 goals and 22 assists in all competitions, helping the German club to two DFB Pokal trophies in 2022 and 2023.

At international level, Szoboszlai has played 32 times for the Hungarian national team and scored seven goals since his debut in 2019 against Slovakia.
