Monitoring the U-17 National Team Selection in Solo, Erick Thohir emphasized that there were no entrusted players

Solo, Beritasatu.com – PSSI Chairman, Erick Thohir emphasized that there were no entrusted players during the U-17 National Team selection process which has been running in seven cities. This was said by Erick Thohir when reviewing the selection of Indonesian U-17 national team players at the Sriwedari Stadium, Sunday (23/7/2023).

In his review, Erick Thohir was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of PSSI Zainudin Amali, Indra Sjafri and Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

In his review, Erick Thohir emphasized that there were no entrusted players in the selection.

“Selection for the U-17 national team has been carried out in 7 cities. I was present in Jakarta, Solo, Bandung, Palembang and Bali yesterday, some were in Kalimantan and Banjarmasin. The selection went smoothly and I made sure there were no entrusted players,” he explained.

PSSI said Erick wanted to seriously prepare not only for the U-17 level this year but also for the U-20 National Team for 2025. According to him, to form a strong team requires a mature program.

Erick also announced that PSSI had signed a contract with coach from Germany, Frank Wormuth to become a consultant for the U-17 and U-20 National Team Coaches.

“Last night I signed with Frunk Wormuth to be co-coach. Coach Indra also welcomed him from Germany. He will assist the U-17 national team this August in Jakarta, then will assist in Germany and during the U-17 World Cup event, he will accompany the team as a whole,” he explained.

One of the selection players for the U-17 national team, Romeldo from Semarang welcomed this selection. He said he had prepared stamina in advance.

“From myself I am quite enthusiastic, yes, in terms of the field and facilities it is good,” he said.
