NBA Western Conference Semifinals, Nuggets Defeat Suns in Game 1
The Denver Nuggets host beat the favorite NBA champion Phoenix Suns 125-107 in game 1, the NBA Western Conference semifinals at Pepsi Center, Denver, Sunday (30/4/2023) WIB.
After trailing by one point at the end of the first quarter 31-32, the Nuggets showed their quality by continuing to lead in scoring in the next quarter.
Even in the second quarter, the Nuggets were able to dampen the Suns’ attacks until they were only able to score 19 points. In contrast, the host camp packed 37 points.
Player center Nuggets mainstay Nikola Jokic scored 24 points in this match. His partner Aaron Gordon added 23 points.
Nuggets player (the most prominent in this match was Jamal Murray who scored 34 points.
From the Suns camp, the duo Kevin Durant and Devin Booker each scored 29 and 27 points.
In terms of attack, the Nuggets players performed better executing three-point shots. As many as 48 points were recorded from these long shots.
Meanwhile, the Suns players were only able to get 21 points from three-pointers.
The Suns also recorded 16 errors that cost them the ball (turnovers), whereas the Nuggets only made that mistake nine times.
