Against Aston Villa, Manchester United’s tough task at Old Trafford

– Manchester United is predicted to have a difficult match against Aston Villa in the Premier League competition, Sunday (30/4/2023) starting at 20.00 WIB.

Erik ten Hag’s squad will host a team that has made a good record in their last few matches. Since the end of February, Unai Emery’s team has been unbeaten. In their last 10 matches, the team based at Villa Park won eight times and the other two games ended in draws.

Meanwhile, MU’s performance has been unstable lately. In the last match in the Premier League, they gave up a two-goal advantage in the first half and only got one point after being held to a draw by Tottenham.

Manchester United are still without a number of players for their game against Aston Villa. Several mainstay players are still injured, such as defender Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, as well as Harry Maguire. Midfielder Scott McTominay also can not be lowered.

Bruno Fernandes started in the match against Tottenham and will start again in this home game.

Harry Maguire was injured in training and did not feature against Tottenham. The back line formation is also expected to be the same as the draw against Harry Kane et al.

Thus the formation in defense will consist of Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw who collaborate in the heart of the defense accompanied by Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right side and Diogo Dalot on the left. Midfield duo Casemiro and Christian Eriksen operate in front of the defensive midfielder.

Marcus Rashford is predicted to be the sole spearhead supported by Antony, Bruno, Fernandes, Jadon Sancho.

In the Aston Villa camp, coach Unai Emery still could not play Philippe Coutinho, Leon Bailey, Jed Steer, Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara.

Emery named a team that hasn’t changed in his last game and could do the same against United. Ollie Watkins will be the mainstay of hitting the opponent’s defense. The 27-year-old striker will be supported by the trio of Jacob Ramsey, Emiliano Buendía and John McGinn.

Leander Dendoncker and Douglas Luiz anchor the midfield line. While the back row will be filled with Ashley Young, Alex Konsa, Tyrone Mings and Ezri Moreno. They will escort the World Cup champion goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez.

Manchester United only drew 2-2 at home to Tottenham despite winning 2-0 at half-time. They have struggled of late, losing to Sevilla in the Europa League and going to penalties before beating Brighton on penalties to reach the FA Cup final. Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s score shows that Unai Emery’s troops must really be watched out for.

Villa arrived at Old Trafford retaining the longest unbeaten run in the league at the moment, along with Manchester City on 10 games unbeaten. They won when they visited Old Trafford in the league last season.

The match was marred by Bruno Fernandes’ failure to score from the penalty spot. Being able to draw or win can be a tremendous advantage for the hosts. Victory will further strengthen the position of Casemiro and his friends in the top four to be able to win Champions League tickets at the end of the season.

But winning against Unai Emery’s troops is certainly not an easy thing. The Red Devils will face an opponent who will be very troublesome for them.
