Not Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro Will Replace Harry Maguire to Become Manchester United Captain?

Casemiro is likely to enjoy the role of squad leader if he is elected as the new captain of Manchester United. The reason is, the player himself had admitted that he was happy if he was given responsibility as a senior who protects the club.

“Honestly, I love having this role (as a senior). (I love) being a leader who cares, and acts like a father. I like to set an example, be the first, and play this role,” he told Placaras reported by the Mirror.

Nevertheless, Casemiro indicated that he did not want to get too fixated on trying to catch the captain’s armband. He claims that he will continue to try to be a good senior, regardless of whether Erik ten Hag will appoint him as the new MU captain or not.

“The captain’s armband is nothing more than a symbol, but the players have a responsibility to talk to the referee, also to (fellow) other players. I want to be a player who sets that example,” he added.
