ONLY ONE MAN – While singleness has never been more important and couples come and go quickly, there are love stories that last. There are still couples who met young, for whom it was the first love, and whose relationship has lasted for years, even decades. From an adolescent love, from youth can be born the great love of his life. And then you realize that you’ve had only one love in your life, that you’ve shared everything with one person.

I met my husband when I was in high school, I was barely 17 years old, I was in first and passed the baccalaureate to him. It was love at first sight , and we were inseparable as we are at that age. I obviously believed in true love , I was romantic and I had the chance to meet a sincere, tender boy, with whom I was on the same wavelength.

High school together, friends, cinemas, rides in his first car, the official presentation to parents . The first romantic weekends, the first holidays, our first time. We have millions of memories together and we shared everything. For all these years, we have only been separated for 2 years, during our studies. But we saw each other almost every weekend, we wrote to each other, we called each other. I still have today the letters, the birthday and Valentine’s Day cards that we sent each other. (ONLY ONE MAN IN MY LIFE)

Teenagers, students, young adults, we went through all the stages of life together. And then after our studies, we moved in together. After a few years, we got married, bought our house and had two children.

A LIFE AS A COUPLE AND THEN AS A CLASSIC FAMILY, BUT HAPPY, VERY HAPPY. OUR LIVES HAVE BEEN INTERTWINED FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. ALL MY IMPORTANT MEMORIES, HE IS ONE OF THEM.

I never regretted my choice, to tell the truth I never asked myself the question. Of course, there are days with and days without, years more difficult than others, but the love is always there. And life projects , couple and family projects too.

We have succeeded in creating a good balance in our lives, between our couple and our role as parents, between home and work, between our social and personal lives. And I think that’s what largely explains why our couple has held on for more than 20 years. (ONLY ONE MAN )

My 40 years ago made me think but not like a midlife crisis to question everything. No, in fact, this kind of balance sheet hour, I did it by observing what has been happening around me for a few years.

FOR A LONG TIME, I DIDN’T ASK MYSELF ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT HAVING KNOWN ONLY ONE MAN IN MY LIFE.

Before him, I had a few flirtations between my 14 and my 17 years, but that does not count. His first love emotions are nice memories, but they didn’t build my love life.

Today, it is actually through my friends and acquaintances that I realized that things had changed radically. (ONLY ONE MAN IN MY LIFE)

When I see what is happening around me, I tell myself that it is almost a miracle to be in a relationship for so many years and to have known only one man. And to feel happy and fulfilled.

OR IS THERE SOMETHING MISSING IN MY LOVE LIFE THAT I DON’T SUSPECT? OTHER EXPERIENCES, POINTS OF COMPARISON?

I start from the principle that doing like everyone else is not a guarantee of reason and above all I don’t feel the desire to do so. Even when my husband and I have disagreements or fights, I never thought I was going to leave him.

During the “lower periods” of our intimacy, and in more than 20 years, there are bound to be some, I didn’t tell myself that I was going to cheat on him.

AM I NAIVE AND AGAINST THE GRAIN IN A SOCIETY THAT THROWS AWAY AS QUICKLY AS IT CONSUMES? I HOPE NOT.

I am a faithful woman and above all, I didn’t feel like I was missing out because I had only known one man in my life. It’s even quite the opposite. I tell myself that I am lucky because I met very early on the one made for me when others spend their lives looking for or waiting for their soul mate . ONLY ONE MAN

In recent years, among my friends, many couples have separated , more than half. We are surrounded by single and divorced, single-parent and blended families . It’s today’s society, it affects everyone whether you’re 30 or 50 years old. We look a bit like an old couple who resists and it is by seeing what is happening around me that this questioning has imposed itself on me. (ONLY ONE MAN IN MY LIFE)

I love my husband and I hope with all my heart that nothing will separate us. But when I see couples like us who I thought were solid leaving one after the other, I’m sometimes scared . Fear of losing everything and being completely lost in a life I don’t know.

We are never safe from anything and I know that if one day I found myself single, I would not be armed in the face of what makes meetings and relationships today .

It’s not my intention and I don’t want to jinx it, so I avoid thinking about it. And above all, I want to continue enjoying this happiness and this chance to have met the man of my life, the one made for me, more than 20 years ago.
