Rummenigge Supports Inter Milan Defeats Man City in the Champions League Final

– Former Inter Milan and Bayern Munich striker, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, gave full support to Inter Milan to be able to win the Champions League this season. Inter Milan advanced to the Champions League final and will face English giants, Manchester City, June 10 in Turkey.

Rummenigge admitted that Inter were clearly not the favorites in the final, but that would be profitable.

“Inter must not feel beaten, because being the underdog can be an advantage. It’s only one game, and they can do damage. They don’t need a miracle, but only victory. They can do it,” said Rummenigge.

According to Rummenigge, Inter’s achievement of reaching the Champions League final was extraordinary. I Nerazzurri are second behind Bayern Munich in the group of death, having knocked out Barcelona in the Europa League.

“Nobody expected Inter to qualify at that stage. I said they would go through with Bayern, but I did it with great affection. Everyone was betting on us and the Blaugrana. But Simone Inzaghi succeeded. This team is not to be underestimated and solid in all respects line,” he said.

Rummenigge praised Marotta’s ability to put together a competitive squad despite economic constraints.

“I congratulate my friend Marotta. I think he’s been a genius this year. He had to build a team that is now a Champions League finalist on a shoestring budget. He didn’t spend a lot of money or have a lot of money. He was a general manager which is incredible. Maybe now they understand that in Turin as well. When I was in charge of Bayern and he was in charge of Juventus, we did a lot of business. He is very serious and intelligent, but he knows how to judge the market by fairplay,added Rumenigge.
