The PS5 Pro is rumored to be launching this year, after sales of Sony's new console fell short of the company's expectations.

Analysts say the PS5 Pro will launch in mid-late 2024. The arrival of this “Pro” model has been widely anticipated.

The PS5 itself was launched for the first time at the end of 2020, at which time the console market was experiencing a chipset shortage.

As a result, the supply of chipsets for Sony's new console is scarce on the market and this has resulted in the current PS5 price soaring.

However, the limited stock of Sony consoles finally ended in 2023. Since supply has gradually returned to normal, rumors of the PS5 Pro have immediately emerged.

One of the first rumors came when fans looked closely at Sony's patents, and the latest comes from a report from a gaming industry insider.

Kantan Games CEO, Serkan Toto, recently shared news about the presence of the new PS5 variant.

Quoting a CNBC report via Gamerant, Wednesday (21/2/2024), it is possible that the PS5 Pro will launch at the end of 2024.

This Sony console rumor comes after Sony's report last week, where the PS5 had entered the end of its life cycle. Therefore, it is natural that the next step to replace this Sony console is the PS5 Pro.

If this analyst is correct, the PS5 Pro will arrive before the release of GTA 6 in 2025.
