Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Google introduced the new Circle to Search feature at the Google I/O 2024 event last night, and is predicted to help students learn.

The new Circle to Search feature can provide step-by-step instructions for answering physics and mathematics questions.

“They only need to activate the Circle to Search feature by long pressing the home button or navigation bar, then circle the question,” Google said.

However, the search engine giant also explained that some math problems require users to sign up for Google's experimental Search Labs feature.

The company said this new feature was made possible thanks to a series of new AI models called LearnLM which were specifically created and adapted for learning.

Since it was just announced, they plan to make adjustments and plan to launch a better version by the end of this year.

Google claims that this improved version will be able to solve more complex problems.

“Circle to Search will be able to solve more complex problems involving symbolic formulas, diagrams, graphs and more,” said the company.

Google released Circle to Search earlier this year at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, and it was initially only available on the Google S24 series.

A few weeks later, this feature was also available on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

Now, the Circle to Search feature is also available for other Samsung devices, such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, Pixel 6, and Pixel 7.

The plan is that this AI feature from Google will also be available on more Android cellphones in the future.
