West Ham Frustrated With Postponement To Sell Declan Rice To Arsenal

– West Ham are increasingly frustrated by delays in the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal. A £105m deal was agreed eight days ago but to date, there has been no official signing.

This delay was caused by delays in the preparation of documents by Arsenal’s lawyers. West Ham are still waiting to sign a contract.

According to information from West Ham, Rice has passed a medical at Arsenal. He has also been training regularly while on holiday in Portugal. Arsenal hope to complete Rice’s signing process before the squad departs for the United States for a pre-season tour on Sunday.

The deal consists of an initial payment of £100 million (around Rp.1.94 billion) with an additional £5 million (about 9.7 billion) in bonuses. The deal will also surpass Arsenal’s previous record signing, currently held by Nicolas Pepe from Lille for £72m in 2019.

Arsenal are also reported to have agreed the signing of Jurrien Timber from Ajaz, in hopes of including the defender in their squad for the friendly against FC Nurnberg on Thursday.

Timber has completed his medical ahead of his £38 million (around Rp.740 billion) transfer from Ajax, and long-term contract documents are also being prepared. Arsenal will pay £34 million (around Rp.662 billion) up front for Timber, while the rest will be paid based on certain achievements.

Timber is known as a versatile defender, able to fill in at right back which was mostly filled by Ben White last season. The defender, who was also eyed by Manchester United, can also play as a centre-back.
