Will 2025 Android Flagship HP Prices Be More Expensive Because of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4?

According to rumors circulating, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will provide a significant performance increase over the previous generation.

This processor will have two high performance cores and six medium performance cores based on 3nm fabrication from TSMC.

Previously, Qualcomm confirmed that Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 would be launched in October 2024. There are also rumors indicating that the first smartphone with this processor will be Xiaomi.

Most reports say this chip will have much higher benchmarks than the previous generation. However, based on benchmark scores from device prototypes that use this chipset, the results are not much different.

However, Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station revealed, as quoted from Phone Arena, Friday (10/5/2024) that the prototype only used efficiency cores, not including performance cores.

The leaker also claims that the core in the latest Snapdragon chipset runs at speeds between 3.6GHz and 4.0GHz.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 recorded a Geekbench score of around 2,700 on the single-core test, and 10,000 on the multi-core test. This score is a significant improvement when compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with scores of 2,187 and 6,669.

Based on information from the leaker, it is possible that Qualcomm will still improve the capabilities of this chipset, so that the resulting benchmark scores will increase in the next few months.
