Woodball Advisory Board Officially Registered to Become NOC Indonesia

– Advisory Council of the Indonesian Woodball Association (IWbA) Zaenal Asikin officially registered to become the Executive Committee (KE) of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) or NOC Indonesia.

Zainal Asikin came to the 16th floor of the NOC Indonesia Office accompanied by IWbA Chairman Aang Sunadji. All requirements to become KE NOC Indonesia are also complete without any deficiencies.

“Thank God, today woodball Indonesia sent a representative, namely Mr. Ikin who is also on the Advisory Board at IWbA to run as a candidate for Indonesia’s NOC KE,” Aang told reporters, Friday (16/6/2023).

“This is part of IWbA’s struggle and endeavor to be able to advance Indonesian woodball to the world stage. So we hope for everyone’s prayers and support,” he added.

Woodball for the first time will be played at the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON). This was used by IWbA as a momentum and entry point so that woodball can also be played at the SEA Games and the Asian Games in the future.

Aang hopes that having a woodball representative at NOC Indonesia will further pave the way for him to be able to appear in multi-sport events, including holding an international woodball event to Indonesia.

“Thank you for your support. We struggle with fair play as stated in the Olympic Charter. This is a struggle and a mandate for the future of Indonesian sports, especially Indonesian woodball so that it can stand on the world stage,” said Asikin.

The Indonesian NOC Congress with the agenda of electing the General Chair, Deputy Chairperson and Executive Committee for the 2023-2027 period will be held at the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta on Friday (30/6/2023).
