104 Athletes from 10 Countries Compete in the 2023 Amateur Golf Championship

– A total of 104 amateur golf athletes from 10 countries are ready to compete for the championship in the 2023 Medco-Pondok Indah Golf Amateur Golf Championship. They consist of 78 male athletes and 26 female athletes.

The ten countries are Indonesia, Australia, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Oman, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam. They will compete at Pondok Indah Golf Course, Jakarta, July 4-6.

Indonesian athletes who appeared at the SEA Games in Cambodia will also participate. They will try to become champions in the 5th series of the Indonesian Amateur Golf Championship (IAGC).

“For the target, I always have a big target, which is to become a champion. During preparation, I always train to the maximum, and whatever the result, I will meet the target or not, what matters is I will always do my best. Please pray for all Indonesian people,” said Kristina Yoko Natalia representing the athletes during a press conference at Pondok Indah Golf, Jakarta, Monday (3/7/2023).

One of the athletes for the Indonesian women’s national team hopes that many spectators will attend and provide direct support to. According to him, the presence of many spectators will make the athletes more enthusiastic.

Project Officer of Medco-Pondok Indah Amateur Golf Championship 2023, Djonnie Rahmat welcomes the presence of all golfers who will compete. He hopes all players can enjoy this tournament.

“We hope that all athletes, both from Indonesia and from other countries, can show their best performance. Winning or if is a process. We hope they all always hold high regard fairplay,” said Djonnie who is also the Match Committee at Pondok Indah Golf Club.

This tournament uses the format strokeplay. Will be done cut-off on the second day. However, those who did not pass cut-off can still continue to compete on the third day in the group consolation. The tournament organized by Pondok Indah Golf Club is supported by many sponsors.

“We congratulate all the participants. Hopefully this tournament will be a valuable experience for athletes from Indonesia and from other countries. Hopefully this tournament will be a valuable experience to be more advanced in the next tournaments,” said Hilmi Panigoro as the Main Director of MedcoEnergi.

Chairman of Pondok Indah Golf Club, Hafzan Taher invited sports lovers and the general public to come and provide direct support.

“We hope that all Indonesian people will give their blessing, by praying and being present to directly support the athletes. We also provide special prizes for the audience,” said Hafzan.

On the last day, a prize draw will be held which will be colored with entertainment provided specifically for the audience.
