Junior Tennis Players from 20 Countries Compete in the Soul Parking ITF Jakarta J-60

– Tennis players from 20 countries compete in international tournaments which are rolling again on the court of The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta, starting Monday (3/7/2023).

This week, it is the turn of junior tennis players to show their skills in the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors event labeled Soul Parking Thamrin Cup.

“This event is an official competition for the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for junior tennis players, aged up to 18 years in the J-60 category, one of the highest in the country at the moment,” said Susan Soebakti as tournament director.

The 20 countries that took part in enlivening the ITF Jakarta J60 event from the European Continent, represented Russia and Spain. Meanwhile from the Asian Region, tennis players from Korea, China, Japan, India and Sri Lanka and Syria came. There were also representatives from the United States, Australia and New Zealand. And of course from neighboring countries like Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

The host, Indonesia sent 19 male tennis players and 17 female tennis players to fill 48 main singles slots. Some of the representatives of Merah Putih managed to advance to the second round, including Jesslyn Kartawinata who won the duel between wild cards in the first match. Jesslyn won over Yucheng Tian from China, 6-4 6-1.

In the second round, Jesslyn will challenge the 15th seed from Hong Kong, Hau Ching Rosalyn Chan, Tuesday (4/7/2023).

Jesslyn also triumphed in the doubles sector in pairs with Kholisa Siti Maisaroh winning over the Indonesian and Sri Lankan mixed duo, Sheryl Halim / Saajida Razick 6-1 6-1.

Meanwhile, Kholisa Siti Maisaroh, who is the second seeded singles, received a bye in the opening round. Lisa will be involved in a civil war in the second round, serving Cylova Zuleika Hukmasaniyya, Tuesday (4/7).
