Just a few days after it was launched on the PC and mobile Android and iOS platforms, HoYoverse or Mihoyo managed to reap the success of Honkai: Star Rail.

Daniel Ahmad, Director of Research and Insights at Niko Partners reported that the Genshin Impact developer claimed via his Weibo account that Honkai: Star Rail had 20 million downloads in just one day.

When compared to Genshin Impact, citing Gamesradar, Saturday (29/4/2023), the analytics company App Annie noted that the game was downloaded 17 million times on mobile devices, four days after its release.

Ahmad also highlighted the signs of Star Rail’s achievement that passed Genshin Impact at launch, where this was already evident from the high number of those who had pre-registered.

Reportedly, there were 30 million pre-registrations with 21 million coming from China and 10 million coming from other countries.

Meanwhile, according to IGN, Genshin Impact attracted 20 million pre-registrations in China, and five million from other countries, before it was officially launched to the public.
