6 Indonesian Representatives from Indonesia Advance to the Quarter Finals

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Six Indonesian representatives advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2024 Spain Masters badminton championship, Thursday (29/3/2024), at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur, Madrid.

The six Red and White representatives who passed, namely mixed doubles Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumasari and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, and two women's singles Komang Ayu Cahyadewi, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, as well as women's doubles Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and doubles son of Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

Sixth seeded mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari beat Adam Hall/Julie Macoherson 21-17, 17-21 and 21-11 in 30 minutes.

Second seed women's doubles Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi advanced to the quarter-finals after beating Hirokami/Yuna Kato from Japan 21-11, 21-7. They beat their opponents in 31 minutes.

Women's singles Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo stopped Vietnam's eighth seed Nguyen Thuy Linh 21-12, 21-15 in 34 minutes.

Indonesia's representative in the other women's singles event, Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, beat Taiwan's representative Sung Shuo Yun 21-11, 21-14 in 34 minutes.

Mixed doubles Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati also advanced to the quarter-finals after beating their national team partners Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah 21-19, 19-21 and 21-10 in 27 minutes.

Men's doubles Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani also won quarter-final tickets after defeating Japanese representatives Keiichiro Matsui/Katsuki Tamate. 21-11 and 23-21 in 32 minutes.

However, their steps failed to be followed by the mixed doubles who appeared in the main round after qualifying for Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata. They surrendered to Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi from China 20-22, 19-21 in 38 minutes.

Putri Kusuma Wardani also failed to win a ticket to the quarter-finals because she was stopped by Thailand's representative Pornpawee Chochuwong 14-21 and 20-22. Putri gave up after fighting for 40 minutes.
