Arsenal to the Top of the Standings, City Keeps Opportunities

London, Beritasatu.com – A number of matches in the English Premier League took place on Thursday (4/4/2024) early morning WIB. The Arsenal club has temporarily succeeded in shifting Liverpool from the top of the standings.

Arsenal won 2-0 at home against Luton Town. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard opened the scoring in the 24th minute, and Daiki Hashioka's own goal put the hosts in control heading into the break.

Mikel Arteta's troops rose to first place with 68 points from 30 matches, displacing Liverpool, who together with Manchester City have collected 67 points.

In Manchester, hosts Manchester City won 4-1 over Aston Villa. City player, Phil Foden scored a hat trick (three goals) in this match. Rodri scored another goal.

Villa scored the only goal from young player Jhon Duran in the 20th minute.

In another match, host Brentford played a goalless draw (0-0) against Brighton. The visiting team, who controlled more of the ball, failed to take advantage of their advantage.

Brighton was able to kick on target six times, while the hosts only managed twice.

This draw leaves Brighton in ninth position in the standings with 43 points. Meanwhile, Brentford is in 15th position with 28 points.
