Denver Nuggets NBA Champion, DeAndre Jordan’s 1,083 Game Wait Is Over

– The Denver Nuggets won the NBA for the first time, highlighting a major shift in the balance of power in US basketball.

The Denver Nuggets Monday night became the first Western Conference team outside the states of California and Texas to win a championship in more than 40 years, with many players tasting title glory for the first time.

One of those first-time champions was veteran basketball player DeAndre Jordan, whose NBA run took him to the top of the game for the first time.

DeAndre Jordan had to go through 1,083 NBA games before finally feeling the NBA title.

DeAndre Jordan entered the NBA as draft pick Los Angeles Clippers in 2008. He developed into a two-time rebounding champion and was a member of the famous Lob City Clippers trio with Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.

DeAndre Jordan then joined the Dallas Mavericks in free agency before going to the New York Knicks as part of a swap for Kristaps Porzingis in 2019. He had spells with the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers before signing with the Denver Nuggets last summer.

Even though he only made eight regular season starts and none in the playoffs, DeAndre Jordan will be able to put an “NBA champion” on his resume.

Jordan’s one-year, $3 million contract expires this summer, but there’s a possibility Denver will re-sign him. He was a significant influence in the Nuggets locker room, pushing Nikola Jokic to become a more outspoken leader and promoting a positive environment despite his limited playing time.

If DeAndre Jordan returns to Mile High City, he’ll probably celebrate again this time next year.

BetMGM now favors the Denver Nuggets as early favorites to win the 2024 NBA championship ahead of the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.
