Google Doodle Commemorates Earth Day 2023, Invites Communities to Fight Climate Change

Quoting information from the Climate Change Knowledge Center of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Thursday (22/4/2022), climate change is a significant change that occurs in climate, air temperature and rainfall.

Climate change occurs due to the increasing concentration of carbon dioxide gas and other gases in the atmosphere, causing the greenhouse gas effect.

The increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases itself occurs due to various human activities, such as emissions of fossil fuels, changes in land use, including waste and industrial activities.

The negative impacts of climate change have also begun to be felt at this time, such as reduced water quantity and decreased water quality. Not only that, there are changes in habitat conditions that occur due to rising sea levels, floods, and storms which are the result of climate change.

This change will indirectly cause the extinction of various species, both animals and plants. This is because they did not have time to adapt to changes in temperature and natural changes that occur so quickly.

This extinction will have a major impact on ecosystems and food chains.
