Musk announces that Twitter will allow users to offer subscriptions to content and videos

Elon Muskowner of Twitter, announced Thursday that users of the social network will be able to offer their followers subscriptions to content, including long texts and videos of several hours.

Users who offer subscriptions to their content, a feature that can be accessed through the “Monetization” tab of the settings, will receive all the money paid by subscribers, apart from the fees charged by platforms such as Android and iOS.

Twitter will not charge a percentage for the first 12 months.

“That’s 70% for subscriptions on iOS and Android (they charge 30%) and ~92% on the web (could be better, depending on payment processor),” Musk said in a tweet.

He added that Twitter will also help promote the work of creators and maximize their earnings.
