National Team Parade, Polda Metro Prepares Traffic Engineering

The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya is preparing traffic engineering (traffic) in anticipation of the 2023 SEA Games national team (timnas) football procession on several roads in the Capital City on Friday (19/5/2023).

“Of course there is traffic engineering, especially the Sudirman-Thamrin line. Tomorrow will also be working hours, but this is a tight day (holiday), hopefully there will be fewer car users,” said Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director Kombes Pol Latif Usman when contacted in Jakarta, Thursday (18/5/2023) quoted from Between.

Latif is also still waiting for information on which routes the national team player will take.

“See tomorrow’s situation, we are building a security unit, traffic engineering later, we are still waiting for a fixed (definite) route, because the first is from the Merdeka Palace, both of which have information from GBK, so we are still confirming it,” said Latif.

For this reason, his party will deploy a number of its members at points where traffic density is predicted to occur.

“Of course from all points for, not just Sudirman-Thamrin, later we will start arrangements from Kuningan to the SCBD area, after that from Slipi, Palmerah, from Fatmawati we will also arrange,” he explained.

In order not to increase the density of traffic flow, Latif also appealed to motorists who may not have an interest tomorrow to avoid the Sudirman-Thamrin route.

As previously reported, the U-22 national team will be paraded starting from the Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) at 08.00 WIB, then heading to Jalan Sudirman then to the HI Roundabout, and finishing at the Bung Karno Main Stadium. This procession is in line with the success of the national team which won gold at the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia.

“The intent and purpose of this event is to respect all the players and team officials because they have won the gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. This is the gold medal that has been waiting for a long time, which is 32 years,” said Exco PSSI Arya Sinulingga.

“After we last won it at the SEA Games Manila, Philippines in 1991. Apart from that, this is also to provide an opportunity for the people who have been supporting the struggle of the U-22 national team to see and meet the players in person,” Arya added.
