Regarding Ganjar Pranowo’s Companion, Hasto: There will be a surprise from Mrs. Mega

Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said that the announcement of the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) running for Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election would be made at the right moment. However, Hasto ensured that there would be surprises from PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri.

“If from style of leadership Mrs. Mega indeed she always makes element of surprise there and then also see how the right momentum is,” said Hasto Kristiyanto when met by the team BTV in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Sunday (7/5/2023).

According to Hasto, announcing who is Ganjar Pranowo’s running mate is not an easy matter. PDIP is currently preparing various events and seeing the right momentum, such as seeing the reaction of the people and also the political parties that carry Ganjar.

“Then also calculations from the political map later who Pak Ganjar will face, contest with whom, it will be formulated in whose momentum and when the vice presidential candidate must be announced,” said Hasto.

Hasto said, in determining the cawapres also not only based on the wishes of the PDI Perjuangan, but there is a party mechanism that must be implemented.

Hasto added, based on his party’s experience in 2014 and 2019, many other parties have joined PDI Perjuangan. According to him, PDIP has never been adventurous, respects political economy, and respects the communication coordination mechanism through the party.

There are seven names that President Jokowi has suggested. However, there are 10 names in the pockets of PDIP chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri. Hasto himself has a positive view of the names of the various vice presidential candidates for Ganjar Pranowo who are currently being discussed in the community.

“But once again, because this is welcoming a figure whose names have been nominated are good, our job is to assist the chairman in conducting an analysis, especially from the aspect of his leadership character, track record and also his courage to take responsibility for the future. future in accordance with the various problems we face today,” said Hasto.
