MotoGP: Embrace at Jerez, Rossi and Lorenzo Make Up?

– Jorge Lorenzo uploaded a photo when he was embracing his old enemy Valentino Rossi at the Spanish MotoGP at the Jerez Circuit, Sunday (30/4/2023).

Both former riders are at paddock Jerez for different reasons – Lorenzo takes on his new job as a commentator for Spanish TV, and Rossi oversees his Mooney VR46 team.

A behind the scenes moment captured and uploaded by Lorenzo implying their long term rivalry may be over forever.

Former Yamaha teammates were confined by a wall separating their garages. A literal divider in the middle of the team to separate the warring drivers.

Rossi ended his career with seven MotoGP titles in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009. Meanwhile Lorenzo won three times in 2010, 2012 and 2015.

In recent years, their once fiery relationship has thawed, and there has been mutual respect for some time.

Photo of smiling Rossi and Lorenzo from paddock at the Jerez Circuit could indicate the two are entering a new era of friendship. The two will likely meet again this season in a future show.
