Results against Bournemouth do not help MU's efforts to reach the Champions League

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Erik ten Hag, Manchester United coach, revealed that the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday (13/4/2024) would not help MU win a ticket to the Champions League (UCL) next season.

The Red Devils, nicknamed MU, even fell behind because their goal was broken through by Dominic Solanke and Justin Kluivert. However, MU still won one point after being able to equalize thanks to a pair of goals scored by Bruno Fernandes.

This draw made MU drop to seventh place in the standings with a collection of 50 points. Meanwhile, Bournemouth is also stuck in 12th place with 42 points.

Ten Hag emphasized that these results were inadequate, especially towards the end of the season. He also highlighted his team's lack of dominance in the match.

This Dutch coach too stated that if they gave the opponent many chances in the first half, they did not deserve more. MU has now slipped to seventh position with 60 points, after being overtaken by Newcastle United who have a better goal difference.

Manchester United will compete again in the Premier League against Sheffield United at Old Trafford on Thursday (25/4/2024) at 02.00 WIB. But before that, they will face Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final match on Sunday (21/4/2024) at 21.30 WIB at Wembley Stadium.
