Returning to Jember, Megawati's initial story was that she was called Megatron

Jember, Beritasatu.com – Athlete who successfully played in the Korean Volleyball League, Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi returned to her hometown in Jember Regency, East Java. He said that he was first called Megatron.

When Megawati joined the Jung Kwan Jang Red Sparks club in the Korean Volleyball League, she received the nickname Megatron.

“Megatron is one of the strong characters in the film Transformers. Well, because my spikes are strong, I was nicknamed Megatron,” said Megawati at Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha Jember, Sunday (7/4/2024). On that occasion, he was welcomed by the Regent of Jember Hendy Siswanto.

Megawati, the youngest of three siblings from the couple Siti Muhanah and the late Maksum, also talked about the differences in life and playing volleyball in Korea and Indonesia.

“It's cooler there and the training is harder, so by practicing diligently and following the coach's directions you can play very well,” said the 184 cm tall player.

Even though she likes Korean life, Mega said, Indonesia, especially Jember, is the place she misses the most.

Megawati and her family were present at the pendapa and were warmly welcomed by the Regent of Jember Hendy Siswanto and his wife.

Hendy is proud of the achievements made by this very talented native Jember woman.

“Mbak Mega's presence is a motivation for Jember residents, especially in the field of volleyball. However, not only that, Mega is expected to be a motivation for Jember residents in other fields,” said Hendy.
