SEA Games Indonesia and Cambodia Football Tickets in Group A are sold out

Tickets for the opening group stage match at the 2023 SEA Games Football event on Saturday (29/4/2023) have sold out.

The Cambodian SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) and the Cambodian Football Federation (FFC) on Monday (24/4/2023) handed out tickets for the opening match of the group stage football SEA Games this Saturday, with around 20,000 tickets distributed free of charge to fans.

In just one day at a different time. According to FFC, the tickets have sold out.

Hundreds of football fans lined up in the sweltering heat on Monday to grab free tickets to watch the opening Group A qualifiers when Cambodia will face Timor-Leste and Indonesia will face the Philippines.

The games will be played at the National Olympic Stadium which has a seating capacity of 50,000.

Keo Sarath, general secretary of the FFC, said the federation sent over 10,000 tickets and CAMSOC sent around 5,000. So, in all, about twenty thousand tickets were handed out in one day, he said.

“It is possible that the remaining tickets will be handed over by the ministry or the football club working with CAMSOC,” he said.

Disappointed fans have expressed frustration at the lack of information and how complicated it was to get tickets, and the online booking system is still not working.

A post on CAMSOC’s official Facebook page on April 24 said: “This is the digital age. Why are we still continuing in this traditional way? We can do better with technology and it saves a lot of time and effort.”

The CAMSOC online ticket application was still not working properly yesterday.

Another post wrote that “This is a major tournament and the apps for the event are not well developed. Systems must be tested before being released to the public. Can’t talk!”
