Second Wave of Backflow at Soetta Airport Reaches 170,000 Passengers

– Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, is still packed with thousands of passengers during the second wave of the 2023 Eid return peak.

Angkasa Pura II Operations Director (AP2) Muhammad Wasid, said that in the return flow of the second wave, it was predicted that the movement of passengers would reach 170,000 people.

“For the day we estimate and predict hopefully it will reach 170,000 (passenger movements) only at Soekarno-Hatta Airport,” Wasid said at Soetta Airport, Sunday (30/4/2023).

Wasid said that with the significant increase in passenger movement at Soekarno-Hatta Airport during the Lebaran transportation, his party had realized more than a thousand extra flights.

“Now for the realization extra flights (added flight hours) thank God so far there are around 1,140 above the prediction. If per day around 100-300 Extra Flight,” he said.

“In Angkasa Pura II (AP2) in general traffic 30%-nan for paxsession. So, we continue to estimate that on Sunday and Monday this will be one of the peaks for the return flow of Eid,” he added.

In fact, said Wasid, the 20 airports under the auspices of Angkasa Pura II on Sunday (30/4/2023) have experienced overall traffic increase in the number of passengers.

“Now for the corporate ones, we also make sure that maybe in the 280,000s we can reach it today, hopefully it can be realized and we will maintain the on time performance movement above 75%,” he said.

Apart from that, continued Wasid, during the Eid 2023 transportation period the destinations that are still the favorite destinations for community travel are Denpasar, Kualanamu and Surabaya.

“For domestic as usual, favorite destinations are Denpasar, Kualanamu, and other cities such as Surabaya and Makassar. Meanwhile for internationals, we will see that one destination, Jeddah, has increased to number three after Singapore and Kuala Lumpur,” he explained.
