Taipei Open 2023: 4 Indonesian representatives to the quarter-finals, 4 others eliminated

– Four Indonesian representatives qualified for the Taipei Open 2023 quarter-finals. They are Putri Kusuma Wardani, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata, and Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Meanwhile, four other representatives had to stop in the last 16, namely Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, Tommy Sugiarto, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Allesya Rose.

Putri KW qualified after defeating Huang Ching Ping (Taiwan) 21-13, 21-19. “I’m grateful that I won the match and was able to move on to the next round. It also kept me from getting injured. From the start, I had prepared a pattern of play like what to use on the field. It turned out to be going well,” said Putri KW after the match.

Chico also won, defeating Leong Jun Hao (Malaysia) in three sets, 21-18, 14-21, 21-16.

Jafar/Aisyah advanced to the quarterfinals after beating their partner, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari l15-21, 21-13, 21-19. The other doubles were Febriana/Amalia Cheng Yu-Pei/Sun Wen Pei 19-21, 11-21.

Next, they will play the Taipei Open 2023 quarter-final match, Friday (22/6/2023) starting at 02.00 local time.
