Vinicius Junior Becomes a Victim of Racist Harassment, Mbappe Sends a Message of Support

– Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker, Kylian Mbappe, sent a message of support to Real Madrid striker, Vinícius Junior who was the target of racist abuse from Valencia fans, on Sunday (22/5/2023).

The most recent abuse of Vinícius occurred in Madrid’s 1-0 loss at Valencia. The match had to be temporarily suspended after the Brazilian striker admitted that he was insulted by a fan at the Mestalla Stadium.

The 22-year-old has been subjected to racist abuse several times since moving to Spain five years ago.

“You are not alone. We are with you and we support you,” Mbappé wrote on Instagram.

Mbappe has also been hit by racist and hateful comments on social networks after France’s defeat to Argentina in last year’s World Cup final.

Brazilian politicians including President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, players and clubs have supported Vinícius and criticized racism in the Spanish League.
