Twitter is making sudden changes to its platform again. This time, if netizens want to view content or tweets, they are required to have an account.

Previously, users who didn’t have a Twitter account could still browse the tweets on Elon Musk’s social media platform.

People outside of Twitter are required to create an account if they wish to like or leave comments on a Tweet.

With this change, users who don’t have or haven’t logged in to their Twitter account will get a request to log in or create a new account, when they click on a Tweet, user profile, or thread.

Quoting The Verge, Saturday (1/7/2023), Twitter did not make a public announcement regarding this change. Thus, some people are confused whether this is a technical error or intentional.

However, Elon Musk via his Twitter account claims that this change is a “temporary emergency measure.”
