WSBK: Toprak Razgatlioglu Moves to Team BMW Motorrad Rockit

– Not moving to MotoGP, World Superbike Championship (WSBK) racer Toprak Razgatlioglu officially moved his team from the Pata Yamaha Yamaha YZF R1 motorbike to the Rokit BMW Motorrad team.

The racer from Turkey will ride the M1000RR motorbike to start the 2024 season. BMW is the third manufacturer to be strengthened by Razgatlioglu after Kawasaki and Yamaha.

Razgatlioglu’s presence was welcomed enthusiastically by BMW management. Head of BMW Motorrad Markus Schramm thinks Razgatlioglu is the best racer at the moment and has a good personality off the track. Schramn believes Razgatlioglu is able to adapt quickly with the team.

“Toprak is without a doubt one of the best riders on the field right now, which he not only proves by winning the 2021 World Championship title,” said Schramn.

“But he is not only a fast motorcycle rider, he also has a great personality off the track. We are sure that the Toprak will quickly adapt to the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family. We look forward to our collaboration and our future together,” he added.

Razgatlioglu has won 33 races and a total of 93 podiums throughout his career since making his WSBK debut in 2018 with Turkish Puccetti Kawasaki.

Razgatlioglu was also recorded as having won the WSBK title in the 2021 season with a collection of 564 points, 13 points ahead of the British racer from the Kawasaki Racing Team Jonathan Rea who was runner-up that season.

This title at the same time broke the domination of six consecutive seasons of WSBK which previously had always been won by the British racer. The racer who was born on October 16, 1996 secured the world title after finishing in second place at race 1 at the Mandalika Circuit, Indonesia in November 2021.
