Zoom Meeting Has a New AI Feature, Helping Users When Meetings Are Late

Through Zoom’s AI assistant Zoom IQ, Zoom introduces features such as summarizing, drafting messages, and other AI features into it.

But this time, the online meeting platform is giving more capabilities to the assistant’s features, including ways to join meetings that users may have missed.

So that way, the user can enlist the help of AI to summarize what he missed in the meeting, as well as ask further questions.

Zoom IQ can also perform several other capabilities such as creating whiteboards based on text requests and providing meeting recaps, as well as summarizing threads in Zoom Team Chat.

Zoom IQ also allows users to create responses to peers using AI, such as the ChatGPT bot found in Slack.

Meanwhile, draft AI-based messages and emails were launched in April, but are still based on invitations. However, the “selected” Zoom IQ meeting summary feature will also be introduced more broadly.

The integration of AI features into Zoom is also a response to various artificial intelligence capabilities into the online meeting platforms of their competitors such as Google and Microsoft.

Google, for example, brought features to generate text, images, and summaries in Docs, Gmail, Sheets, and Slides. Meanwhile, Microsoft 365 has been testing the Copilot AI assistant for the Office platform.
