Anitta reveals that feat with Sam Smith is on new album – Cidades na Net

Anitta announced the resumption of her musical collaboration with English singer Sam Smith, almost a month after revealing to her fans that the Brit had given up on the feat.

During a live broadcast held this Wednesday, the 21st, the singer confirmed that the song recorded with the British artist, titled Ai, will be featured on her new album Funk Generation, to be released on April 26th. This new collaboration replaces the previously canceled partnership called I Wanna Be.

Despite the good news, the carioca's new album will have a downturn. The song Girl Like Me, made in collaboration with Chlöe, will not be on the album.

Estadão contacted Anitta's advisor who confirmed the withdrawal of the Funk Generation hit. “The song in question had to be removed from the album due to bureaucratic issues – which, unfortunately, usually happens”, informed the team. During the live, Anitta said that Girl Like Me has already been recorded and even has a music video. “We are fighting hard to get everything right. Who knows, maybe for a deluxe (version), ”said the singer.

Funk Generation celebrates the singer's roots in Rio funk. The album promises to be a mix of English, Spanish and Portuguese, including 15 songs, including the already released Joga Pra Lua, in partnership with Dennis and Pedro Sampaio, and Double Team, with Bad Gyal and Brray.

Sam Smith is one of the attractions at Lollapalooza 2024, which starts this Friday, the 22nd, at the Interlagos Racetrack.
