Badminton SEA Games 2023: Indonesian Women’s Team Beware of the Philippines in the Semifinals

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Indonesian women’s team badminton team paved the way to win SEA Games 2023 gold. One of the ways to achieve that is by defeating the Philippines in the SEA Games XXXII/2023 Cambodia semifinals at Morodok Techo Badminton Hall, Phnom Penh Wednesday (10/5/2023).

Head of Development and Achievement Division of Central Executive of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PP PBSI) Rionny Mainaky asked all players to focus and not think about other things. As is known, the Philippines made a surprise by beating Malaysia 3-0 in the quarter-final match.

“We don’t want to think too much about what our opponents are doing, we just have to focus on each other. For tomorrow, the preparation is good,” said Rionny as quoted by Antara.

“I hope the players can perform with confidence and high self-confidence. I think we can overcome the resistance of the Filipino team,” said Rionny.

The Red and White squad started the 2023 SEA Games today beating hosts Cambodia with a landslide score of 3-0. Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, who became the first women’s singles, opened the scoring by defeating Phon Chenda 21-4, 21-4.

A sad fate has again befallen Indonesian athletes at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. The Indonesian women’s badminton player’s room had a leak when it rained rice.
