Cool, Indonesian MTB Bike Race Exceeds 2023 SEA Games Gold Target

– The Indonesian cycling team, especially the MTB, succeeded in exceeding the gold medal target at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia by collecting 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

Head Coach of the Indonesian Cycling Team, Dadang Haries Poernomo said this achievement was historical because Indonesian cyclists were able to dominate four of the five race numbers at the 2023 SEA Games.

“First of all, I thank God because MTB has won four gold medals. Actually, our target was two gold medals in the MTB number. But Indonesian athletes were able to achieve, even exceed the target. We only escaped in one number,” Dadang said when contacted media crew, Monday (8/5/2023).

According to him, the achievements at the 2023 SEA Games were more than just gold medals. Because the gold medalists are young people.

The last cyclist to win a gold medal was Dara Latifah who took part in the women’s Cross Country Eliminator (XCE) event which took place in Kulen Mountains, Siem Reap, Monday (8/5/2023).

She became the best after beating Ariana The Patrice Evangelista from the Philippines who won silver in the final and Warinthorn Phetpraphan who came home with bronze.

For the athlete from North Sumatra, this victory added two gold collections at the 2023 SEA Games.

Previously, Dara won the same achievement in the Mixed Cross Country Relay event with Sayu Bella Sukma Dewi, Zaenal Fanani, and Feri Yudoyono.
