Basketball World Cup Title, Menpora Promises to Be Transparent and Accountable

– The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo said that his party would be transparent and accountable in the FIBA World Cup or Basketball World Cup which will be held in Indonesia.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) disbursed funds of Rp. 135 billion and these funds are sourced from the State Budget which is mandated in a transparent and accountable manner,” he said during a press conference at the Kemenpora Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (24/5/2023).

Menpora Dito explained that the APBN funding was one of the other funds, namely sponsorship from the private sector for the FIBA World Cup 2023 in Indonesia.

He said that the funds sourced from the State Budget would be handed over to the Central Board of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PP Perbasi) and the Local Executive Committee (LOC) for the implementation of the FIBA World Cup, which is one of the venues in Indonesia.

Funding for the implementation of the FIBA World Cup was outlined in the signing of the collaboration between Perbasi and Kemenpora which was carried out by the General Chairperson of PP Perbasi and Commitment Making Officer (PPK) Assistant Deputy Athlete Mainstay Deputy for Sports Achievement Improvement, which was witnessed directly by Menpora Dito.

Menpora asked Perbasi as the person in charge and LOC FIBA World Cup 2023 Indonesia to use the mandated funds in a transparent and accountable manner.

“The key to success is completing all administration and all state financial accountability in a transparent and accountable manner, because this is the State Budget, the state budget, not our grandmother’s money,” said Dito.
