Bundesliga, Dortmund’s position is prone to being overtaken by Munich

Leaders of the German League or Bundesliga standings, Borussia Dortmund, are prone to being overtaken, after only being able to draw 1-1 against VfL Bochum on Friday (28/4/2023).

With four games remaining in the season, Dortmund have 61 points, just two clear of second-placed Bayern Munich, who will take over at the helm if they beat bottom club Hertha Berlin on Sunday.

Dortmund looked to be desperately chasing their first Bundesliga title in 11 years and struggled to break down a solid Bochum defence.

His players were also angry with the referee and VAR following two late penalty claims that went unfulfilled.

“It’s very bittersweet for us. It was an intense game but we had our chances,” said Dortmund coach Edin Terzic.

“I’m sorry for my tone and emotion, but I said it last week that for us and also for me this is probably the only chance in our lives to get anywhere near a title.”

“Then you have decisions like that when so much is at stake. The only thing I asked the referee to look at again.”

Dortmund were 1-0 down after five minutes following Anthony Losilla’s powerful strike from outside the box.

But Bochum’s joy lasted only two minutes as unmarked Karim Adeyemi scored to equalize.
