– Liverpool picked up a narrow victory over Tottenham Hotspur after going through a drama of seven goals in the Premier League continued at Anfield Stadium, Sunday (30/4/2023). This 4-3 victory brought The Reds peek into the top four.

Liverpool carried out a 4-3-3 formation by placing an attack trio of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz. They are supported by midfielders Harvey Elliott, Fabinho and Curtis Jones.

The four back line players are Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil Van Dijk and Andy Robertson. They escorted goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

While in the Tottenham camp, coach Ryan Mason reduced the 3-4-2-1 pattern by featuring Harry Kane as the sole spearhead. He is supported by Son Heung-min, and Dejan Kulusevski.

The four players in the midfield position are filled with Ivan Perisic, Pierre Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp and Pedro Porro. The three players in the back row are filled with Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Cristian Romero. The goalkeeper position was entrusted to Fraser Forster.

Liverpool scored the opener after just three minutes when Curtis Jones headed past Fraser Forster’s visitors after latching on to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross.

Liverpool’s second goal was scored just two minutes later after Luis Diaz beat Forster using a Cody Gakpo pass.

Liverpool completed the lead to 3-0 thanks to a goal from the penalty spot scored by Mohamed Salah. The referee pointed to the spot after Tottenham defender Cristian Romero violated Cody Gakpo. With his left foot, Salah kicked the ball into the middle of the goal while goalkeeper Forster anticipated it by jumping to the left.

Tottenham could only score a goal back in the 40th minute. Harry Kane scored this goal with a right-foot volley to meet Ivan Perisic’s pass from the right side of the defense. The 3-1 score for Liverpool’s advantage lasted until the first half was over.

Tottenham managed to equalize when Richarlison scored against Alisson in injury time. However, this score did not last long because Diogo Jota scored the decisive goal for Liverpool’s victory in the 90 + 4th minute.
