Detained by Udinese, Napoli Wins First Scudetto in 33 Years

– Napoli confirmed the title scudetto or their first Italian League title in 33 years despite being held to a draw by hosts Udinese, 1-1, Friday (5/5/2023) early morning WIB.

The draw at the Dacia Stadium brought Napoli to collect 80 points and it is no longer possible to be chased by its competitors, including second-placed Lazio, who has only collected 64 points.

The Napoli crowd celebrated the Serie A title or scudetto after Luciano Spalletti’s team drew 1-1 at Udinese, Thursday, May 4, 2023.

The Senegalese striker’s goal forced Napoli to a 1-1 draw and meant that Luciano Spaletti’s men had to postpone their party to becoming Serie A champions after 33 years. The public at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium had already prepared a party when Mathias Olivera brought the hosts ahead in the 62nd minute.
