Dreams Come True, Brothers from Magelang Meet Idols in PB Djarum Auditions

– Behind the enthusiasm of thousands of young athletes in the PB Djarum 2023 general audition, there is an interesting story from brothers from Magelang, Central Java. They were finally able to meet their idols, mixed doubles athletes Praveen and Melati. The meeting with their idol became the motivation for the brothers to realize their dreams in the world of badminton.

The siblings are Tiara Aisya Guntur Putri (9 years) and Amara Aisya Guntur Putri (7 years), a young badminton player from Mertoyudan, Magelang Regency, Central Java. Their enthusiasm in achieving their dream of becoming professional athletes was even more motivated after meeting their idol mixed doubles pair, Praveen Jordan and Melati Daeva Oktavianti, who is familiarly called Pramel.

In an interview with Beritasatu.comthey shared how they had to stand in line long enough to meet their idol at the event meet and greet organized by the public audition organizer PB Djarum. Tiara admitted that she was very happy to be with her sister, get autographs and take pictures with her idol athletes.

“I am very happy to get autographs from Melati and Praveen, they are my idols. I am very happy to be able to meet them in person. I want to become a professional athlete like them,” said Tiara, an athlete from PB Mahkota Magelang, after undergoing the general audition selection process PB Djarum, Monday (3/7/2023).

After meeting the idol, the two brothers received a message to continue to train enthusiastically to make their dream of becoming a badminton athlete come true. They plan to keep the shirts signed by Melati and Praveen as displays at home, as motivation to be more enthusiastic about developing a hobby of badminton.

Meanwhile, Guntur Sumarjono, the parents of the two children, always supports their children’s hobbies which are not far from those of their father. In PB Djarum’s public audition series, he was willing to take the time to test his children’s talents in order to make their dreams come true.

Guntur revealed that over the past three years, in the midst of a pandemic, his two daughters have become more enthusiastic about pursuing badminton. As a result, they have won first place to runner up in several district and provincial level tournaments.
