Ducati boss criticizes Marc Marquez, who now bears the title of King of Crash

The Ducati boss criticized Marc Marquez’s habit of taking risks which has led to him now being named king crashes in MotoGP. Noted, until half of the 2023 MotoGP season, Marquez had not even finished the main race.

The racer, who is identical to number 93, has crashed 14 times this season, many people believe was caused by excessive ambition on a Honda motorbike that was unable to fulfill its capacity. So far Marquez has only managed to complete three sprint races, and has missed five races this season due to injuries following an accident.

Regarding Marquez’s frequent falls off his bike this season, Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi said the eight-time world champion had to change his approach.

“He tries to do things that the bike is beyond his ability to do. What do you get with that?” Tardozzi’s manager was quoted as saying US.

“For me, he shouldn’t have crashed and to be able to get the bike into the pit box. I don’t accept what he said, that he tried and crashed. He is a person with very strong character and finishing fifth is not in line with his character, but in my opinion my opinion, someone should tell him that it is better to think differently. That is my opinion,” he explained.

Not only harming himself, Marquez’s accident also harmed other racers. Like Miguel Oliveira and Johann Zarco who he hit. Including Francesco Bagnaia and Maverick Vinales who were often disturbed by Marquez’s tactic of hanging a vehicle.

“I criticize some of his actions that a champion like Marc Marquez should not have done. From my point of view, of course Marc says that the regulations allow him to do some things when he has difficulties which I don’t think is good,” said Tardizzi.

“He’s right, but I think that a champion like him should be humbler and see how far he is capable. He’s not helping Honda by being second on the Mugello grid, because that’s not his position for the bike and what he’s doing isn’t well received by the fans,” he added.

According to him, Marquez’s reckless actions which ended in a crash would actually damage the image of the racer nicknamed The Baby Alien.

“We have to respect a champion like Marc, because he is very brave. He is one of the top five of all time and he must not tarnish his image with these actions,” said Tardozzi.
