League 1: Defeating PSIS, Persita Wins First Victory

– Persita Tangerang won 2-0 over PSIS Semarang in the second week of the Indonesian League 1 at the Indomilk Arena Tangerang Stadium, Saturday (8/7/2023) evening. Two Persita goals were scored by Christian Rontini and Ezequiel Vidal.

An additional three points have made Persita Tangerang now sit in 6th place in the Indonesian League 1 with three points from two matches. Meanwhile, PSIS Semarang is in 8th place with three points.

In that match, Persita controlled 53 percent of ball possession and fired five shots, four of which were on target.

Luis Edmundo’s men immediately took the initiative to attack from the start of the first half. A golden opportunity was obtained after receiving a penalty after Irsyad Maulana was violated in the penalty box. Unfortunately Mateo Bustos, who became the executioner, failed to fulfill his duties after PSIS goalkeeper Adi Satryo brushed off his kick.

Then it was PSIS’s turn to threaten through Fredyan Wahyu’s kick, but it still missed the Persita goal guarded by Aditya Harlan.

Buying and selling continues. Persita again threatened through Ezequiel Vidal’s header which was again thwarted by goalkeeper Adi Satryo. The 0-0 score lasted until half time.

In the second half, Persita again took the initiative to attack and managed to break the deadlock through a goal by new Filipino defender Christian Rontin. Starting from a corner kick initiated by Mateo Bustos, the ball was greeted by Rontin’s header which broke into the PSIS goal in the 62nd minute.

Score to 1-0 for Persita.

This advantage increases the morale and confidence of players. Persita doubled their advantage through Vidal’s shot which took advantage of Javlon Guseynov’s pass in the 86th minute.

Persita almost increased their lead when striker Ramiro Fergozi fired a shot into an empty PSIS goal. Unfortunately midfielder Mahesa Jenar Boubakary Diarra blocked the ball.

The 2-0 home win lasted until the end of the game.
