Erick Thohir Explains the Reasons for Forming the PSSI Foundation

PSSI Chairman, Erick Thohir made a new breakthrough by forming the PSSI Foundation. This breakthrough is to ensure the welfare of the athletes.

Erick Thohir said there were 2 programs provided for athletes and soccer referees at the PSSI Foundation. Both programs cover health issues and career sustainability for athletes or former athletes and referees.

“First, on health issues, we will make a program after they don’t play, their health is guaranteed. The second is a career management program at the time or after,” said Erick Thohir at GBK Arena Floor 1, Central Jakarta, Thursday (22/6/2023).

Erick Thohir said the formation of the PSSI foundation proved that PSSI was present, cared for, and coached athletes and all those involved in the development of Indonesian footballers.

“We, the foundation, want to prove that PSSI is present, caring for, fostering and this is the function of the foundation that has been formed at the moment, there are 2 foundation programs,” he said.

Then, Erick Thohir said, the second program at the PSSI Foundation had been carried out when the athletes won the 2023 SEA Games.

“Yesterday the SEA Games Team, which was still prime, had not yet finished it. The government has also given the opportunity to work or join ASN, Polri, including BUMN. Now this is also part of our program too,” he added.
